HEAD OF SERVICE DELIVERY

London – Technology Services – £70k + bonus

This is a fast-growing tech business fixing the connectivity and communication challenges of organisations that need seamless and secure technical infrastructure. Service is everything, and this new position exists to deliver exactly that.

THE ROLE

This role is all about delivery, and how to do that in a smart and standardised way while delighting the customer. There’s a mix of Project Managers, Project Engineers and Service Desk Engineers who need to be weaved into a team that’s focused on working together. This is a new position that’s designed to improve the service day-to-day and plan for growth. In that context, it’s not quite a blank canvas, but there’s scope to make a real impact in an ambitious organisation.

The technology involved spins around digital infrastructure, networks, security and connected buildings that are robust, reliable, and flexible. Managing delivery is as more about managing resources, people and customers, than getting engaged in the technical nuances – the team in place have that covered – it’s their organisation, engagement and customer communication that’s so critical. And that will apply even more as the portfolio expands. Continuous change and transformation are inevitable, and you’ll take control, rather than let change dictate what happens next.

This position will have demands on your tactical and strategic responsibilities. You’ll have to make calls and informed judgements in the moment. If you find that stimulating, you’re already off on the right foot.

THE CANDIDATE

A broad technical experience and understanding of networks, IT, systems and infrastructure is important, but not as critical as team leadership and resource planning. You might even come from a manufacturing background as automation, lean and repeatability is key to the company’s further growth. This is a visible role that doesn’t need somebody who gets on the tools first chance they get. That won’t work as the team grows and the need for direction, support, recruitment, development and accountability becomes more important.

You’re used to providing clear and visible leadership in a lean and agile environment, including to team members who may be working on client sites. You’ve probably been a Project Manager in a past life and want the customer to experience the best and fastest service.

GEOGRAPHY:            The offices are in central London close to most of the client portfolio.

SALARY:                      Basic salary will be IRO £65k – £70k along with a performance-related annual bonus.
